The air conditioning units at McGee Middle School have been cleaned, but the school district still needs to upgrade the heating-ventilating-air conditioning system, said officials at the Nov. 18 Town Council meeting.

Air quality and moisture issues will continue to be problematic, said John Pajor public works director.

The council approved $16,000 for a study on what sort of system needs to be installed.

Environmental Systems Corporation recently completed a major cleaning of the exisiting units. But that is only a temporary fix, Pajor said. The current units were a "misapplication" he said and now professional engineers with HVAC  experience need to do an assessment. "We can't afford to make a mistake again."

Fuss & O'Neill will be hired for the study.
