Developers of the Sherwood Mills property are seeking town help and, at its Tuesday night meeting, the Town Council will consider holding a public hearing to consider aid for environmental remediation.

The old mill at 1 Main St., and other adjacent properties, is being developed into housing units.

CIL Development of Kensignton Inc. is seeking help in structuring funds for  environmental remediation.

The council will consider setting a public hearing for Dec. 2 at 6:45 p.m. in regards to a bond ordinance of $1,150,000. The ordinance will "finance an environmental remediaton grant to benefit the development of the Sherwood Mills Properties."

The appropriation will be inclusive of state and federal funding received by the town or the developer for this remediation.
