Stephanie Uba, 83, of New Britain, CT passed away on Friday, August 22nd, 2008 after three months of hospitalization and nursing home care.

Stephanie Uba's family and friends will remember her as a good and caring mother who came to this country from her native Poland, working hard to adapt and raise a family. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain. Stephanie took great pride in her Polish cooking for the family and her colorful, seasonal gardens. 

Stephanie is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, as well as four sisters and two brothers who lived in Poland. Survivors are three sons, Joseph Uba of Newington, Edward Uba and his wife Lisa of Southington, Richard Uba and his wife Alisa of Berlin and one daughter, Christine Harrison and her husband James of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Stephanie spent much of her time with her beloved five granddaughters including Karen, Jessica, Jenna, Julia and Gianna, who will all miss her deeply

Stephanie's funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26th, 10:45a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from  5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
