Webster Bank robbed again
On Friday, Aug. 22 at approximately 9:51 a.m., the Berlin Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Webster Bank located at 40 Webster Square Road.
According to police, upon arrival a sole perpetrator fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The perpetrator was described in a police press release as follows: male, dark/tan skin tone, approximately 35-40 years old, approximately 5-foot-8, 180-200 lbs, heavy set, with a round face.
He was wearing a dark colored ski mask, dark blue sweatsuit, New Balance white colored sneakers, black gloves, and a dark colored baseball cap.
A blue Buick Rendezvous seen in the area of Route 9 South may have been involved in the crime.
This is the second robbery at this Webster Bank branch in the past 30 days. At this time it is unclear if the two robberies are connected.
